This document is a simple guide on how to use the Tasking UI.
For more information on the Tasking API, please refer to the official Axelglobe Tasking API Documentation.
A Typical Tasking Flow
The typical tasking workflow has the following steps:
1. Authenticate (Login)
2. Create a Task Plan
3. Review a list of Task Candidates
4. Schedule a Task Request
5. Check Task status and download data
How to Task Captures
1. Authenticate
If you don't have an account, sign-up at https://www.axelglobe.com/#signup.
If you do have an account, log in at https://axelglobe.com/auth/login.
Once you've logged in, you can visit the Tasking UI by clicking on the link to the Tasking page in the Account Dropdown:
Or you can Click on the Tasking Button on the right side of the Timeline:
2. Create a Task Plan
You will first see the "Plans" tab active in the panel.
But you have not yet created any Task Plans, so let's create a new Task Plan.
Click the "Create Plan" Button:
The Create Plan form must be completed to create a Task Plan:
1. Enter a Plan Name.
2. Add an Area of Interest using one of the AOI creation tools.
3. Add a Time of Interest.
4. Add an off-nadir tolerance limit.
5. Add which satellites you want to target as part of your Task Plan.
Creating a Task Plan does not represent any commitment to capture data, download data, or incur any expenses (payments/credits/etc). A Task Plan is just used to understand your requirements so that our system can identify Tasking Candidates for you to review and accept (see next steps).
For more information on each of the Task Plan fields, please refer to the official Axelglobe Tasking API Documentation.
3. Review a list of Task Candidates
Once you've created a Task Plan, you will see that Task Plan listed in the Plans tab that we saw earlier. At first the Task Plan will have a Processing status.
There will be a waiting period while the Task Plan used by our internal systems to find the best Capture Candidates to match your requirements. Once the system has finished, your Task Plan status will become Active.
Learn more about Task Plan Statuses here.
Click on the Actions button for any Task Plan to view the Details for the Task Plan.
If the Task Plan's Status is "Active", then you will be able to view the Task Candidates.
Task Candidates are potential captures that our system has identified may be able to meet your requirements.
4. Request Tasks to be Scheduled
If you see a Task Candidate that you'd like to formally make into a Task Request, you can do so by clicking the Candidate's Action button and clicking Create Request.
You will need to name the Request and choose a Priority for the Tasking Request.
Note: Creating a Request will consume a Tasking Credit. You can check your current Tasking Credit allocation in the bottom right of the Tasking UI.
See end of article for more information on Tasking Credits.
Creating a Tasking Request will immediately take you to that Requests Details page, where you can view the Status of the Tasking Request.
5. Check Tasking Request Status
You can check the status of your Tasking Requests at any time in the Requests Tab.
You can Browse and Track your created Task Requests in the Requests Tab view.
Once a Task Request is in the Data Available status, you can move to download the data that was captured and processed.
6. Download Data
Once a Tasking Request has the status of Data Available, you can view the captured data and download it yourself.
Click the View Captured Data button to view the data.
It will take you to the standard Axelglobe data browsing UI in a special state where you can view the specific data that was captured.
From here, you can select the tiles that you want to download and generate a download bundle just like in our usual browse-to-download workflow.
Tasking Credits
Tasking Credits are required to make a Tasking Request. Credits can currently only be acquired through communication with a Sales Representative.
Rules of Tasking Credits
Tasking Credits are only granted for a period of a month. For example, if you want tasking credits for a capture in October, they will expire at the start of November.
You can request credits in advance. For example, if it is currently October, you can request credits for use in December, but they will expire at the start of January.
Tasking Credits are assigned a Priority Range for which they are valid. For example, if you have a high priority request, you will need high priority Tasking Credits. Please work with your Sales Representative to ensure you have the correct priority of Tasking Credits for your Request.
Checking Tasking Credit Usage
You can check on your current Tasking Credit allocation and usage by navigating to My Organization page and then clicking on the Tasking tab.
At first you will have no Tasking Credits.
Once you have Tasking Credits you will see something like the following:
In the above image, this Organization has 10 Tasking Credits for the month of November 2025 which are valid for Tasking Requests between the Priorities between 10 and 30.
You can also check your current usable Tasking Credits in the bottom right-hand side of the Tasking UI as you make your Plans and Requests:
